What we were dealing with
The original slab was weathered and stopped well short of the back door, leaving most of the rear of the house as bare grass.
The work
What we did about it
- Set forms out from the existing slab to the new patio line
- Excavated and compacted the base
- Poured against the old slab and screeded to fall away from the house
- Floated and finished the surface
- Graded and cleaned up the surrounding yard
The result
A single patio running the width of the house, sloped away from the slab, with the old and new concrete tied together.
